The Lahainaluna Fire Break is a collaborative effort between Maui United Way, Maui Land & Pine, MEMA, HECO, Lahaina Excavation, and several other dedicated organizations.
Volunteers will hand-clear dry grass using gas-powered weed whackers and then dispose of greenwaste in a centrally located dumpster. This is a physically demanding activity that requires the use of power tools/other tools.
Due to liability waivers, all volunteers must register separately.
Those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times and are not permitted to use or be in the vicinity of power tools due to liability and other safety concerns.
